   March News

During the month of March we will be reviewing all of the colors, numbers, and letters which we have learned. The colors are blue, red, orange, green, yellow, and  white. The letters are A-P and the numbers are 1-10 and 1-25. We will be taking about spring, flowers, baby animals, and Easter. We will add the color purple. We will be working on the letters Qq, Rr, Ss, and Tt. We will be counting Easter eggs from 1-10 and 1-25.

Our one and two year olds are really beginning to enjoy story time and learning their colors through games. Most of them can tell you at least two or three of their colors correctly every time. Our new color is purple. We encourgage them to repeat the name of the color each time we ask, just to reinforce those words. We have worked very hard on counting out loud from 1-10. Most of the children can do this so we are going to move on to 1-15.  Please continue to have your children count out loud to you every chance you get through play, song, dance, or even driving down the road counting the cows in the field. We have been working on a shapes key chain for your children. We are getting these laminated and hope to send them home this month. The shapes that we have worked on are circle, triangle, square and rectangle. This month the children will listen to several books about baby animals, spring and Easter. Our song for the month is ” He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. The words are attached to your newsletter. Ask your child about their time at MMO, ask them to sing, count, read to you, say their colors or letters, or just tell you about their day. All of the children are  progressing well and we enjoy each day.

Our three and four year olds area also studying spring, animal babies, flowers, and Easter. They will listen to several books about spring, baby animals, and Easter. their color is purple. They will be making Easter egg magnets and bunny rabbit puppets. They will practice couunting with plastic Easter eggs from 1-25. Their letters for the month are Qq, Rr, Ss, and Tt. They will make these letters from construction paper and decorate them with objects or stickers that begin with that letter. They will also use cereal to form these letters and then get to eat the cereal after practicing the letter. They will also practice writing the letters and drawing pictures of things that begin with these letters. They will continue practicing on their shapes and retelling stories to the teacher. They are also beginning to recall details in stories and learn the main characters.

Our special event for this month will be an Easter egg hunt and party on March 26th from 10:15 until 12:00. We would appreciate any donations to fill the Easter eggs or donations of treats for the party. Please talk to Lea, Penny, Noelle or myself if you would like to donate something. Remember that MMO is out for Spring Break from March 29th  until April 2nd. We hope you all have a safe and Happy Easter!!

Please remember that tuition is due no later than the 10th of the month. One other important thing – several of you have indicated that you would like to have a summer camp here at FIPC during the summer months. We are going to propose to the governing board and then to the Session that we have a summer camp on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. We would like to follow the schedule listed below:

FIPC Vacation Bible School – June 14-17 ( ages 4 and up)

Summer Camp – June 21 – July 22

There will be more details about the summer camp after I have met with the board and it has been taken to the Session. We just wanted to know how many were definitely interested – so please let me know if you are.
