You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
We will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I
trust.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you.
God will protect those who call on the name of the Lord and show them
salvation.
Let us worship God.

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O God, we come before you, stripped of all pretenses and without cause for pride. It seems that we care more about the things of this world than we do about our confession of Christ as our Savior. We put too many things before you and fail to serve you as God alone. Forgive our deceit and lack of loyalty. As we confess our sin grant us your forgiveness, we humbly pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON Leader: Brothers and sisters be assured of God forgiveness in Jesus Christ. Paul writes: “if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” John writes: “if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
People: We give thanks to Jesus who forgives our sin. Amen.
